Tesla Not Working On A Model X Or Model S Renovation

Tesla enthusiasts got excited previous month after speculations of a Model S renovation began surfacing on the web—a driver close to Hawthorne design studio of Tesla stated to have seen a mysterious test vehicle, and of course the web was crowded with theories. Unfortunately, Elon Musk (Tesla CEO) has verified that there is no renovated Model S or Model X (for that matter) in the pipeline.

Answering to a post on Twitter, Musk claimed that while there is no “renovated” Model S or Model X arriving, we will carry on to see a sequence of small modifications. He also claimed that there is no internal revamp on the agenda, either. What will take place to the S and X in the longer run is still up for discussion, although. There will unavoidably come a time when the firm turns its full concentration to its autonomous bids, even though Musk has verified that will not be any time shortly.

On a related note, an ex-Tesla worker is being taken to court for downloading info associated to the firm’s Autopilot function and supposedly taking that info to a Chinese competitor firm.

In the court filing, Guangzhi Cao (former employee) confesses that he uploaded the data to a personal drive and used Tesla’s source code, but refuses that his deeds constitute trade secrets’ theft. Tesla disagrees, claiming in its complaint that the Autopilot function Cao operated on is the “major feature of Tesla’s intellectual property series” and that Cao made an effort to bring these trade secrets to his new employer, Xiaopeng Motors.

Cao got an offer in November 2018 to operate for Xiaopeng Motors, and Tesla blames that “Long before he exited, Cao started uploading full copies of Autopilot-associated source code by Tesla to his personal account on iCloud.
